Take a look at our kitchen cleaning tips for quick and easy cleaning using our Star Drops and Clean-ology products.
Cleaning The Fridge
If your fridge has removable shelves and drawers, these should be tackled first. Unless heavily stained with food residue, they need nothing more than a good long soak in a basin of warm water and Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner. For stubborn stains, consider using Stardrops Anti Bacterial Cleaner, which is a food-friendly antibacterial. Our Stardrops Anti Bacterial Cleaner shouldn’t be sprayed directly on or near food, but it is generally safe for food to be placed back into the fridge once it’s been cleaned. Alternatively, use a good, all-purpose kitchen cleaner that is food-friendly such as Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner. Disinfectant sprays and surface wipes are ideal, but stay away from anything with harsh chemicals, especially bleach products. Our Stardrops Multi Surface Spray, Clean-ology Rose & Wild Mint Multipurpose Cleaner and the Clean-ology Mint & Green Tea Multipurpose Cleaner would also be ideal. If you want to keep on top of your fridge hygiene, think about including the following in your daily kitchen cleaning schedule. While you’re in the kitchen cooking dinner, take just a few minutes to check the fridge for any spills. The quicker you clean up a spill, the easier it should be to remove. You can also use our antibacterial spray on the door handle as it is one of the most germ-ridden places in the kitchen, we would recommend using the Stardrops Anti Bacterial Cleaner.
Cleaning The Oven
All aspects of your oven, including shelves and the oven interior, can be cleaned with our Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner. Before you start using any oven cleaning products, you’ll want to make sure you have all the necessary equipment for oven cleaning.
These items will not only make the job easier, but also much safer.
● Rubber Gloves - Keep your hands protected by making sure you wear rubber gloves while cleaning with our products.
● Spoon or Blunt Blade - Remove loose or caked on food residue before attempting to clean your oven with a spoon or blunt knife.
● Paper Towels - Protect your floors and make cleaning up easier by covering your kitchen floor with paper towels, newspapers, or old cloths and rags.
● Paint or Toothbrush - You may find it easier to spray one area and then use a brush to cover hard-to-reach areas, away from the fan and heating elements.
● Scrubbing Brush - You can use a hardwearing scrubbing sponge, or even just an old dish washing brush – something with a medium bristle that will bring up dirt, without causing damage.
● Microfibre Cloth - When it comes to wiping residue from the oven, use a cloth that won’t disintegrate and leave fibres. A washable microfibre cloth is ideal.
Cleaning The Microwave
To help clean your microwave, we would recommend using our Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner or Stardrops Multi Surface Spray. Remove any plates and movable parts from the microwave and wash these separately, following the manufacturer’s instructions. The glass door of your microwave can also be cleaned with our Stardrops Window & Glass Cleaner.
Cleaning Stainless Steel
For light marks and daily cleaning, you can clean stainless steel surfaces with some hot water and a cloth or sponge, adding a little washing-up liquid if needed. If you have problems with fingerprints and water spots, glass cleaner can double as a superb stainless steel cleaner, and for that reason, we recommend our Stardrops Window & Glass Cleaner. Just spray onto the steel surface and wipe with a microfibre cloth. Rinse the steel after you've finished and buff the surface with a dry cloth or towel. The Stardrops Original Cleaner can also be used to clean sinks and taps in bathrooms and kitchens for a streak free, sparkling finish.
Ideally, glasses – particularly expensive wine sets or handmade crystal – should be hand-washed to keep them mark-free and to reduce the risk of damage. Dishwashers can contribute to the problem of staining, as frequent use means soap residues build up and leave a film on glass surfaces. When cleaning glass by hand, use hot water and a small amount of dishwashing detergent to get rid of daily grease. We would recommend Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner. Rinse straight away and leave to air dry with the rim resting on a clean tea towel. If you have to wipe your glasses dry straight away, use lint-free material, such as a microfibre cloth or a glasses cleaning cloth.
For sparkling, clean windows you will need to have clean cloths or newspaper and window cleaning detergent. We would recommend our Stardrops Window & Glass Cleaner, Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner, Stardrops Multi Surface Spray, Stardrops White Vinegar Spray or our Clean-ology Orange and Lemongrass Glass Cleaner. Apply the product to the window. Whichever product you are using remember not to apply too much to the glass. Next, it’s time to remove the cleaning product from the window as you don’t want to leave streaks behind. Use a clean and soft cloth for this (or a ball of newspaper, if you’d prefer). Start at the top of the window and work down in a circular motion or small strokes. Avoid using kitchen roll or toilet roll, as these can leave streaks and debris behind.
