Bathroom Cleaning

We have a number of bathroom cleaning tips to help you clean and care for your bathroom surfaces with ease.

How To Clean The Toilet

The standard toilet cleaner is chlorine bleach or a commercial disinfectant containing bleach liquid. These are often scented to help freshen up the air in the bathroom, but the disinfectant itself should effectively eradicate all toilet odours. For everyday cleaning we would recommend our Stardrops Pine Scented Disinfectant or Stardrops 4-in-1 Disinfectant Spray. Toilet brushes with plastic bristles or non-scratch scourers are better than ones made of metal as these can damage the toilet surface. Some people have reusable cloths for the toilet exterior, but it's more hygienic and convenient to use disposable wipes or paper towels with a cleaning spray, so you can throw them away afterwards. To get rid of all stains in the toilet bowl, you will need access to the whole surface, so start by turning off the water valve for the toilet, and then flush it to reduce the water level. Lift up the toilet seat and spray Stardrops 4-in-1 Disinfectant Spray around the rim and sides. Scrub with a toilet brush, spreading the liquid all around the bowl as you go. Set aside the brush and leave the disinfectant to work. In the meantime, shut the lid and get Stardrops Anti Bacterial Cleaner and disposable paper towels ready for the outside of the toilet. Clean around the tank, hinges and all the parts of the toilet seat and the base as well. Remember to lift up the lid and spray both sides of the seat, as this area can be a key source of lingering odours.

How To Clean The Shower

Give the shower an initial rinse with hot water. The heat will expand the pores of all the surface materials and make it easier to clean. Soak the shower head in a tub filled with Stardrops Original All Round Cleaner for a couple of hours, then scrub the gunk away. If the shower head is fixed to the wall, you can fill a resealable plastic bag and use rubber bands to affix it to the shower head, letting it soak for a while before removing and rinsing. To clean the shower cubicle including the glass and tiles, try the Clean-ology Black Pepper & Juniper Shower Granite Cleaner. To remove soap scum from shower tiles and surfaces, spray on a shower cleaning product, we would recommend our Stardrops Shower Clear Spray. Clean the grouting with Stardrops Bathroom Spray with bleach or Stardrops Mould and Mildew Cleaner and an old toothbrush.

How To Clean Mildew

Mould and Mildew can make a bathroom look and feel unclean. Stardrops Mould and Mildew Cleaner can remove mould and mildew and its spores from bathrooms and kitchens and other areas where warm air is produced. Make sure any room is well-ventilated prior to using the Mould and Mildew Cleaner. Wear rubber gloves and protect surfaces you do not wish to treat. Spray the remover and leave to work for 5 minutes. Wipe clean with a cloth that you are happy to throw away or use a paper towel. To prevent mould and mildew from returning, keep rooms well ventilated, clean surfaces regularly and make sure items such as damp towels are left to dry straight after use so that moisture escapes.

How To Clean Granite

Granite is a beautiful, natural product and looks fantastic in many areas such as kitchen worktops, bathrooms, floors and many more. Always keep granite clean and wipe up any spills as soon as they happen to prevent staining. The Clean-ology Black Pepper Juniper Shower & Granite Cleaner is ideal for daily cleaning. Use a clean white cloth for a streak free finish. Never use heavy duty cleaners on granite. Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperature as constant contact with extreme heat may harm your granite. Although granite is highly scratch resistant, it is best not to cut directly onto it.
